Description
This is one of Effanbee's American Children dolls designed by Dewees Cochran and sold in the 1930s. Her name is Barbara Ann. Made of composition, she stands 17" tall. While her head is one of six molds created for the line, the body used is one made for Effanbee's Anne Shirley doll and is so marked on her back. She has an open mouth with four teeth and lovely clear fully-lashed green eyes that open and close easily. As you see, she has spread finger with nicely painted finger nails. Her blond human hair wig is missing hair and has been cut. She has light crazing but no lifting or cracks. The dress she wears is not as old as the doll, but is a vintage store stock that came here still on a hanger and in its cellophane wrapper. It fits her well and is in the style worn by many of the American Children girl dolls.
