Barbara Anne Face Mold designed by DeWees Cochran for Effanbee
Marked Effanbee on back of head.
Anne Shirley body marked Effanbee Ann Shirley.
Made 1936-1940s and Effanbee marketed them as American Children but they should not be confused with the American Children Portrait Dolls DeWees Cochran produced herself during the same time period.
Approximately 14 1/2” Tall
Blue sleep eyes in working order with “real” lashes and painted lower lashes.
Eyebrow paint is very faint.
Red dot accent is only on left eye
Open mouth with upper teeth. Lips are most likely repainted
Exposed area of composition is faded on face, arms and legs.
Light crazing throughout, works place is back of the right leg.
She comes wearing blue velvet skating outfit with plastic sequins, I believe this was added later but this model was marketed as an “ice queen” at one time to complete with Sonja Henie dolls. She has modest tights and ice skates.
She has what I believe is a human hair wig but appears the front has been cut.
